We’d really like you to meet some of us, which is why we started this collection of meet the team articles.

Although Social Media is a big part of what we do here, it’s not everything! Up today – Mark Gandey, Content Marketing Manager. (Yes technically I’m interviewing myself, but only because nobody else offered to. I don’t have split personalities.)

Hello there. Who are you and what do you do at Giraffe?

Hello me. My name is Mark Gandey and I am Content Marketing Manager here at Giraffe. My role is to produce engaging web, blog and email marketing articles crafted with certain targets in mind depending on what the client wants to achieve.

How long have you been at Giraffe?

I began back in July however it feels like I’ve been here for much longer!

What do you like most about working here?

The people are incredibly talented and great at what they do. Everybody always has their eye out for industry trends which helps create an environment where we all learn and develop constantly. It’s a brilliantly creative and collaborative place – which suits me right down the ground. And my table tennis skills have improved dramatically.

If you could give one tip to anybody looking to boost their digital presence, what would it be?

Quality content is the most important thing. You need to be offering something that will engage your audience and not always trying to make them buy or endorse your product. Sure, your USP is important to you and to your competitors, but it’s not going to matter to your consumers at all if your brand isn’t friendly, engaging and willing to reach out to them in a human way.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a Content Marketing Manager?

Probably be a stage producer. I like writing and creating theatre and I’m a little bit of a diva myself so that would be nice. Or I’d own a micro-brewery. Or be a rock star. And I’d be an astronaut who saves dolphins from illicit tuna fishing practices while discovering ancient societies in the Amazon.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I would be able to make the correct or best possible decision in any situation, instantaneously.

Elves or Dwarves?

Dwarves. Elves are so stuck up. They’re all like “I’m immortal” and stuff and I just don’t dig that. Give me ale and axes any day.

What is your favourite piece of fiction?

I like too many books, however, every year at Christmas I read A Christmas Carol, so that’s certainly a strong contender.

What is your favourite favourite?

Wow, good question me. Probably my wife. Or Gregg’s festive bakes.

Finally, how do you like your eggs in the morning?

Scrambled with smoked salmon on toast, a squeeze of lemon and a crack of pepper. With bucks fizz. And great conversation. It’s like Christmas morning every day.
