Giraffe becomes an accredited Living Wage Employer

We are delighted to announce that Giraffe Social Media is now an accredited Living Wage Employer. This means that every member of staff working for Giraffe will earn a real Living Wage, and will continue to, as the rate is updated every year.

The real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living. It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week. It is currently £10.90 in the UK, with a higher rate of £11.95 for London, reflecting the higher costs of living in the capital.

Kane Lodge, Managing Director, Giraffe said: “As a company, we are proud to be a Real Living Wage employer, driven by a genuine passion for this important cause and a deep commitment to our exceptional team. The values upheld by the Real Living Wage Foundation resonate strongly with our vision on wellbeing. We firmly believe that a thriving workplace is rooted in fair compensation and the well-being of our team members, and this commitment reflects our unwavering dedication to fostering a harmonious and prosperous work environment.

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that Giraffe has joined the movement of over 12,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.

They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as Burberry, Barclays, Everton Football Club and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Giraffe, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

We take great pride in announcing this significant milestone for Giraffe. This accreditation reflects our dedication to fair pay and the well-being of our all our team members. We remain devoted to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment that empowers each team member to flourish.
