— Case Study
Kahoot! had grown into something bigger. Their social was still playing games.
Kahoot! had evolved well beyond student quizzes into a genuine platform for schools and businesses alike - but their social presence hadn't caught up.
As a team who love helping a brand grow into its own story, we saw an opportunity to show the world everything Kahoot! had become, without losing what made people fall in love with it in the first place. Here's how we did it.
KEY INSIGHTS
Challenge
Kahoot! was in the process of evolving and updating the brand, whilst running the risk of losing the audience that made it a global name to begin with.
Diagnosis
Kahoot! needed to find a way of showing the other aspects of the brand, beyond simple school quizzes, whilst also staying true to its roots.
What We Did
Throughout, real-world use cases and platform-tailored messaging did the work of demonstrating Kahoot!'s value beyond education, while a human-first approach kept the brand feeling personable rather than corporate.
Impressions achieved across social content.
Video views achieved across social content.
Engagements across all social content.
The Challenge
Kahoot! came to us facing several interconnected challenges: a static social presence struggling to balance platform features with fun, trend-driven content; a complex identity shift from a bright, youth-focused educational tool to a credible platform for both schools and businesses; and limited internal bandwidth leaving high-profile partnerships underused. They needed a consistent, human-centred approach to reconnect with audiences across platforms.
The Diagnosis
Kahoot!'s challenge was one of perception. They needed to go beyond being known just for student quizzes and showcase the full breadth of tools and features their platform offered - all while still honouring what made them popular in the first place. The bottleneck wasn't a lack of value to show. It was presenting that broader value in a way that still felt like Kahoot!, and reached new audiences who stood to benefit from it.
What We Did
We implemented an organic social media strategy focused on bringing clarity, cohesion, and creativity to Kahoot!'s presence - streamlining the visual identity, balancing promotional content with community-led stories, and building platform-specific strategies tailored to each audience. By leaning into video, storytelling, and authentic interactions, we helped Kahoot! feel more dynamic and relatable across every channel.
Content took two main forms: a broad range of social media carousels covering everything from seasonal updates to messaging aimed directly at the enterprise audience, and standalone single graphics designed to supplement those longer pieces and drive engagement on their own.
Throughout, real-world use cases and platform-tailored messaging did the work of demonstrating Kahoot!'s value beyond education, while a human-first approach kept the brand feeling personable rather than corporate.
Our Human-First Approach
Kahoot! was growing up, moving away from the kid-focused audience they’d built. And growing up can cost you the people who loved you first.
As we worked to evolve the brand, we kept those first brand advocates in view the whole way.
In the strategy we developed, community stories sat alongside the product messaging, real-world examples showed schools and businesses what the platform could do for them, and the tone stayed personable rather than turning corporate. The aim was a bigger Kahoot! that still felt like the one people fell in love with.
The results are in
Since the partnership with Giraffe Social, Kahoot!'s social presence has grown from static to genuinely dynamic - achieving over 77,000,000 million impressions and connecting with a wider audience while building real momentum with video content.
